A lot of this collection has been carfully carved in wax then sent them to be cast in silver, they come back to me needing to be filed and polished and in some cases to be made into the pieces of jewellery.

Other pieces have been created using scraps in my workshop, carefully sculpted while the metal is molten into the required shapes and then also sent for casting.

There’s a lot of work involved in producing jewellery this way but it does mean that I will be able to offer multiples of these pieces and also if you wanted a piece in a different metal such as gold, I could also offer that too. 

I took inspiration for the ‘Ripple’ pieces from the textures in the sand on the beach after the sea has flowed through it, sometimes leaving behind small pebbles in its wake.

‘Flow’ is again inspiration from the beach but the textures left behind after the rocks have been worn smooth from the water flowing over them day after day, organic and tactile.

This collection is where Lauri-Li Design began. I have a love of pebbles, the look and feel of them, each one washed smooth by the sea or river water, each then becoming unique. I wanted to transfer that into my jewellery, making each piece as unique and beautiful as the pebbles on the beach or in the rivers. You can mix and match Classic Pebbles, Rock Pool, or On the Shore pieces to create your own unique collection.

The ‘pebbles’ on each piece are available in silver, copper or 9ct yellow or rose gold which also allows you to customise your pieces to suit your taste. This allows the purchaser and wearer to know that their choice of ‘pebbles’ jewellery really is one of a kind.

Each individual piece of “pebbles” jewellery is also unique, as the pebbles move and find their positions under the flame in the making process, no two pieces will ever have their “pebbles” in exactly the same place.
